clip084

I have come to find that this is my favorite and the most effective type of creepy. It's subtle, stark, unsettling, intoxicating, and it just gives your very being this heightened sense of dread and darkness. No blood, no screamers, no fancy effects, just..stylized minimalism. Like in clip084, there's a theme almost, like this could have been a real thing. It could be all footage of some sort of underground cave system (as evidenced by 'earth tunnel complex', 0:37) which was explored sometime in the early 80's, but was promptly abandoned for no known reason. This footage is all that is left after some 30 years.

The pun is terrible, but the song is oh so good.

Ghosts & Stuff

I was at a party last night with my best friend and we ended up sitting around a bonfire with about seven or eight other gentlemen, all slightly drunk. Suddenly, the topic of ghosts comes up.

"I've had experiences with ghosts," says one guy.

"Dude, me too. The house I lived in five years ago, I swear to god it was haunted," replies another.

This caught me off-guard. I say, "Seriously? You all really believe in ghosts?" One guy says, "Fuck yes" and about three others nod in agreement.

They start talking about supernatural occurrences amongst themselves--I heard exchanges such as, "Then my dad was slammed against the truck by an unknown force" and "A little girl died in that house a few years back; she haunts it now..."

And then it hits me. I tell my friend, "You know, this is how religion was started. They all just agreed on the same ghost."
